The Faculty of Faroese Language and Literature does not have a separate independent dialect archive; however, the recordings in the Tape Archive constitute a vast and valuable resource for researching Faroese oral language and local dialects, most of which are represented in the collection. Informants have been registered separately and categorized by village.
