A number of manuscripts are kept by the Faculty of Faroese Language and Literature in fireproof storage. Some were given to the Faculty, others have been entrusted to it for safe keeping.

Among these texts are manuscripts and documents by J. Christian Poulsen, Christian Matras and Eyðun Winther, ballad manuscripts and recordings of place names.

The Faculty also owns photocopies of manuscripts, which are in other public archives or privately owned. We are currently working on developing a suitable system for the manuscript collection.
