One-year Visiting Professor at NVD

Prof. Dr. Lan Xiong from ChongQing University (China) will be visiting NVD during the period from 17th October 2013 to 17th October 2014.

Prof. Dr. Lan Xiong from ChongQing University (China) will be visiting NVD during the period from 17th October 2013 to 17th October 2014. Her visit has been fully supported by China Scholar Council and ChongQing University. The main objective of her visit is to make research collaborations on energy and time efficient communication protocols in sensor networks with potential applications in environmental monitoring and health care.

Lan Xiong graduated with her Ph.D in School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University, China in 2004. Dr. Xiong has been working in School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University for various teaching and research positions since 1993 and was promoted to a professorship in 2010. Her main research focus is on industry based environmental monitoring and health care in high power pulsed electromagnetic field. More percisely, these applications include water treatment and non-thermal tumor inhibition based on high-voltage or high-frequency pulsers. Moreover, she also investigates online monitoring and fault diagnosing technology for electrical devices in power systems. Dr. Xiong has published more than 40 scientific papers in Chinese journals and international conferences and got more than 10 Chinese invention patents.
