Nám and the Faculty of Education sign a collaboration agreement

Yesterday, a formal collaboration agreement was made between Nám and the Faculty of Education at the University of the Faroe Islands to further develop the cooperation between the parties.

- Now we are formalizing and expanding the collaboration for the benefit of the educational system in the Faroe Islands.

This was said by Eyðun Gaard, Director of Nám, when he, Kalpana Vijayavarathan, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Martin Tvede Zachariasen, Rector of the University, signed the formal collaboration agreement between the parties yesterday - September 10, 2024.

- Yes, we are not only cooperating on knowledge sharing, but also on enhancing the necessary knowledge for the Faroese educational system, added Kalpana.

In the agreement, Nám and the Faculty (Nád) confirm that the activities of both institutions significantly overlap, as both parties focus on the educational system as their area of operation. This includes daycares, primary schools, and secondary schools. The activities primarily concern the education and development of staff, as well as the development of relevant teaching materials for the educational system.

It is not new that Nám and Nád collaborate, but the purpose of formalizing this agreement is to improve the conditions for providing high-quality and relevant services to the educational system.

The agreement states that the following areas of collaboration will be developed: staff exchanges for short-term courses, development work and collaboration with Ph.D. students; joint projects and conferences; and materials for the educational system, including for the ICT-didactic area.

A collaboration committee will now be established to manage the agreement and implement the collaboration. The committee will meet at least three times a year.
