New Dean at the Faculty of Natural Sciences
Peter Freere, Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, will be the new dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of the Faroe Islands.
A unanimous selection committee has decided to appoint Peter Freere to lead the management and development of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the university.
Peter Freere is 64 years old and earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK in 1994. He has extensive work experience from Monash University in Australia, Kathmandu University in Nepal, and most recently at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa.
In addition, Peter Freere has considerable leadership experience, which is crucial for the position of dean at the University of the Faroe Islands. Peter Freere has also family connections on the Faroe Islands.
Peter Freere takes up the position on December 1st.
